Hi Deidre and PANpals,

Trees and the plant community have been the focus of my permanent and temporary public art practice for over 30 years.

In addition to the permanent living public art project in Portland (thanks Peggy!) I've created:

The Trees: A Play in Three Acts by the Plant Community, a 2006 project of the Santa Monica CA arts commission, managed by Marc Pally for Fresh Art
Quercus, a 2016 temporary installation surrounding a aged California live oak in the Descanso Garden Botanical Garden,  LaCañada/Flintridge and
The Arbor Ballet, a 2017 temporary installation in the Campus Arboretum, Central Oregon Community College, Bend, OR.

If you Deidre, or others are interested, I'll send a pdf of my newest catalog documenting the projects, with an essay by Victoria Ellison.

Cheers,

Helen Lessick

Hi Everyone!

I am researching precedent temporary or permanent projects that celebrate and honor trees. Any ideas would be helpful! Thanks!

Best,

Deirdre (Arlington, VA Public Art)
