Hello artists and colleagues,

The Salt Lake City Arts Council and Salt Lake City Department of Airports announce a Request for Proposals open to any artist and legal resident of the United States. Interested artists are asked to create a digital file containing original artwork. If selected, the work will be printed by the Salt Lake City Department of Airports on vinyl and wrapped on one of 24 large-scale walls in the new Salt Lake City International Airport, scheduled to open in 2020.

The 24, large scale art walls—or Whimsy Walls—are located in the airport’s 24 restrooms. The art is intended to create immersive and engaging experiences for travelers.

Applications are being accepted through callforentry.org  and additional information can also be found at saltlakepublicart.org.

All questions and comments may be sent to dana.hernandez@slcgov.com. No phone calls please. All questions will be answered in the order they are received. RFP questions and answers are all posted publically at saltlakepublicart.org.

This opportunity is great for emerging artists or those looking to get initiated into the public art process and is open to artists practicing in all media who can convert their work to a digital file.

Commission: $7,000, 24 available.

Each artist may submit up to 5 unique works of art in a single submission. One submission per artist is permissible.

Deadline: March 20, 2018

Thank you,
