Greetings Patricia,

 

I hope this note finds you doing well. The Arts Team at Bloomberg Philanthropies recently announced a new grant opportunity that we think might be of interest to AFTA’s Public Art Network.

 

The 2018 Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Challenge is our initiative to support temporary public art projects throughout the U.S. We are once again inviting mayors in cities across the country to work with artists to apply for a grant of up to $1 million for temporary public art projects that enliven neighborhoods and strengthen communities. We will select at least three cities to participate in this program. 

 

Our inaugural Public Art Challenge produced some outstanding works of art, collaborations with city governments, and remarkable results.  The attached press release and Public Art Challenge website have more details about the program, but I think this short video captures it best.
