Thank you— yes, to clarify
A conservator—someone trained in conservation.
We do not have a conservator on staff in Dallas and we only use AIC peer reviewed conservators who are hired per project.
I am attempting to understand what other cities are doing with regards to permanent/temporary conservation staff.
I really appreciate all your comments.
Thank you!
Kind Regards,

Subject: Re: list of Public art programs with a conservator on staff
Hi Lynn and PAN colleagues,
For the purposes of this thread, could you clarify how you are using 'conservator?'
An art conservator is typically credentialed through an accredited training program. Conservators often have specialties such as paper, metal or glass. Public art collection managers and technicians perform the field evaluations that may lead to contracting
conservators for specific works and sites.
This was Part 3 of the 2014 webinar Accumulation + Action: Public Art Collection Management. Then-collection manager Pat Gomez and conservator Rosa Lowinger discussed the topic in the Value and Assessment section.

Hi Lynn,
I know that the Edmonton public art program in Alberta, Canada has a conservator on staff. Metro Art in Los Angeles (public transit) also has a part time in-house conservator and their Collections Manager does some conservation too. Let me know if you want contacts at either of these places.
