Hi Eric,

You may be interested in taking a look at the Public Art in Private Development database I’ve put together.  It is in the process of a big overhaul—adding some communities and making the content more searchable.  But for the meantime, it’s still a pretty good resource.   You can find it at https://www.artlawlawyer.com/papd-database/.  Registration is free.  The next step is to include Canada too, so please stay in touch!

Best,
Sarah

Vancouver, BC, is currently reviewing its private developer public art requirement. Currently, developers of rezoned buildings over 100,000 square feet provide art onsite with budgets of C$1.98/sq. ft., or pay 80% of that as cash-in-lieu to a city reserve used to commission major projects at other sites in the city.

I’d like to look at similar programs in North America—could colleagues point me to resources on current policies?

Thanks!
