Hi Tammy!

When I think of public art on columns, I always think of artist Sheila Klein’s Columnseum:

Artists commissioned by Austin AIPP have been doing some digital art wraps on walls and on traffic signal boxes – no columns to date but the process is the same. Cost averages about $15/s.f. for printing and installation only; the artist fee for creation of the art and artist oversight of the printing/installation process are additional. Wraps have proven easier to clear of graffiti than painted surfaces typically are, and the colors are resilient in our intense Texas sun. Wraps installed in full sun since Fall of 2016 show no sign of color degradation.

Subject: Aesthetic Bridge Columns

Dear Colleagues,

Have any of you had any experience with wrapping concrete bridge columns or with somehow “sleeving” the columns to wrap them?

I have seen tile on columns, but still would appreciate any photos or information you can send related to bridge column aesthetics.

Thanks.
