Summary
The City of Beaverton’s Arts Program invites experienced professional artists or artist teams who reside in Washington state or Oregon state to submit qualifications to create original
and site-responsive public artwork for the new Beaverton Public Safety Facility. Funded through the City of Beaverton’s 1% for Art Program, the
project budget is $200,000, inclusive of all expenses including design, fabrication, installation, travel, taxes and fees. Qualifications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PST on Friday, July 27th, 2018.
The Public Safety Center will be built at the existing site of the Beaverton Activities Center, which is city-owned property near the corner of SW Hall Blvd and SW
Allen Blvd. Planning and design of this new facility is nearing completion.
This is an essential services facility for the entire city of Beaverton.
The project site is seated at the confluence of three Beaverton Neighborhoods: Vose, Highland and Central Beaverton – each of which have distinct characters, demographics, and relationships
with the site as a community resource and asset.

Finalists Notified: Early August 2018
Finalists Interviewed: August - September 2018
Project Awarded and Design Contract Issued: September 2018
Conceptual Proposal Review: January 2019
Final Proposal Review: March 2019
Fabrication Contract Issued: April 2019
Eligibility:
Professional, experienced artists and artist teams residing in Washington state or Oregon state are eligible to apply.
Students are ineligible to apply.
