Hi Lynn,
The City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs recently selected local artists of various disciplines to participate in short-term “micro residencies” in various departments.

Subject: Are "embedded artists" still a thing?
This is another question for the field for the second edition of The Artist's Guide to Public Art. In the first edition I wrote about several cities that embedded artists within various departments. I realized that for a while now I haven't
heard much about that happening anywhere or remember seeing any calls-to-artists for it.
Has embedding artists in city departments become so commonplace that it isn't discussed much anymore, or is it being done less? Has it morphed into something else, such as artists-in-residence in neighborhoods or within specific communities?
I greatly appreciate any insight that anyone could provide on this.
Thank you,
