Is there any way to make the ground plane uninviting to skateboards on a run-up to your serpent that is still ADA compliant? Honestly I find talking to skateboarders for ideas on how to deter skateboarders most helpful. There are a number of artists/skateboarders who are sympathetic.

The metal edge guards can work, and sometimes don’t, however they pretty much always look bad as an afterthought to an artwork.
