Subject: Five Reasons Why Public Art Matters

Hi PAN Listserv,

This summer AFTA in collaboration with the 2018 PAN Council launched “Why Public Art Matters (2018)”, a document that provides talking points, reasons, data, and examples of how public art can positively impact a community in five specific areas.  We developed this tool to provide the field with a tool to help educate community members, local decision makers, and other stakeholders on the value that public art can bring to cities and towns.

To help spread the word, check out my Five Reasons Why Public Art Matters blog post that provides an overview of the document.

Working with someone who needs something shorter and more dynamic? Point them to this one minute video on how public art can help communities thrive.

I hope these new resources help you make the case for public art in your community.

Enjoy!
