Hi Pan-Fam!

I am looking for some feedback on a current public art project for the Jacksonville, FL Art in Public Places Program. I have a $300k large scale public art project for the exterior of a parking garage. There will likely be both 2-D and 3-D. I need your expertise and help on the following. Thank you in advance for responding!!

Artist contracts: does your City or agency require artists to obtain Performance Bonds AND Payment/Labor Bonds? If so, please specify the estimated costs if known and whether you’re with a City or agency. Our research shows 3% is average.
How many of you require a contingency in the public art budget? Is it a %? Is the artist required to put it in their budget? Does the city or agency hold the contingency and if so, does it return to the source if unspent?
