The City of Toledo, The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo and Mercy Health have partnered to commission public art for newly constructed roundabouts as part of the Cherry Legacy Project at the intersections of Berdan Ave., Detroit Ave., Cherry St. and Manhattan Blvd in Toledo OH.
We are looking for artists that have experience working in, and with, diverse communities. Submitted qualifications will be judged on a competitive basis. Up to three finalists will be selected and asked to create a proposal for the site.
The Arts Commission is seeking qualifications from artists and/or artist teams for this public art project.

BUDGET
Up to three finalists will be paid $2,000 for developing their proposal. The Arts Commission will reimburse expenses related to site visits, interviews and any other expenses related to this phase of the process including travel, lodging and meals.
The budget for the artwork component is $200,000, including but not limited to all expenses related to project completion, site preparation, additional design fees, materials, equipment, fabrication costs, documentation, transportation, installation and travel.
ELIGIBILITY
The project is open to all artists in the United States of America, age 18 and over, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical or mental disability. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple disciplines.

December 5, 2018 Review of Applications
December 12, 2018 Finalists Notified
January 16, 2019 Finalists Site Visits
February 20, 2019 Finalists Present Proposals
March 5, 2019 Winning Proposal Announced
The Arts Commission reserves the right to change the project timeline. The construction timeline will be mutually agreed upon based on the schedule of the selected artist and that of The Arts Commission.
