From the artist perspective . . .
I primarily use CaFE to search for, and apply to, opportunities. The
search functions allow me to filter the results reasonably well (could
be better) so that I don't spend too much time reading through
opportunities that are not a good match for me. Completing an
application is usually relatively quick, since I can store up to 100
image on the site. And it is FREE for artists.
I have used several of the other platforms mentioned in this discussion
and most of them have been fine, but I don't usually check them for
opportunities unless I become aware of the opportunity elsewhere.
Like others, I don't care for CODAworx. The free service is problematic
and I don't like being hustled for paid service. In general, I have
hesitations about any application process that requires artist to
pay-to-play. That can be a significant obstacle to young/emerging
artists. (I remember.)
