If you haven't already looked at it, the National Association of State Arts Agencies has some good information about this state-by-state, here: https://nasaa-arts.org/research/public-art/

Happy researching!

Subject: Private developer public art policies

Vancouver, BC, is currently reviewing its private developer public art requirement. Currently, developers of rezoned buildings over 100,000 square feet provide art onsite with budgets of C$1.98/sq. ft., or pay 80% of that as cash-in-lieu to a city reserve used to commission major projects at other sites in the city.

I’d like to look at similar programs in North America—could colleagues point me to resources on current policies?

Thanks!

Eric Fredericksen
