Hi all,

I wanted to circle back and see if there were additional questions that came up after the Emergency Relief Fund webinar we had earlier this week? (you can view the webinar recording here)

I’m working on getting a call scheduled for us on our ArtsU platform, so if you have other questions or thoughts you’d like added to a discussion, or if you want to hear from anyone in particular please let me know.

Many thanks,

Jessica Stern

Hi everyone.

I’m sorry we are all connecting under these dire circumstances.  It’s good to hear from you and I appreciate all the information everyone has been sharing.

We are in the middle of our annual campaign which kicked off on January 30th and was to run through April 30th.  We have decided to extend the campaign through June 1, although we are working to bring in as much as we possibly can by April 30th.  Our entire staff has been working remotely for three weeks.

We are at $7.8 million from more than 19,000 donors, which is 63% toward our goal of $12.4 million.  We expect our pace to slow as many companies have now let us know that they will postpone their campaigns. These companies represent about $1.2 MM.  We do have some virtual campaign efforts and we created a tool kit if you would like to check it out.  I would love to see your virtual resources if you have created any for workplace campaigns.

We are planning to launch a quiet, parallel Arts Relief and Recovery fundraising campaign to both backstop FY21 grantmaking and position recovery/innovation funding for the year ahead.  We are working out the details and lead gifts now.

ArtsWave has accelerated $2.4 million in grant payments for 44 organizations which receive operating grants and we are offering $10,000 Working Capital Bridge Loans for eligible arts organizations. We are making $300,000 available in fast-tracked emergency funding in two funding rounds, up to $20,000 dependent on budget size, for art organizations with budgets under $3.5M that can show severe threat to viability. We have redirected project grant support to this pool and are also drawing on board reserves. We are using intermediaries to get out support for individual artists, though we are also considering direct support.

Through our survey of the sector in Greater Cincinnati, the arts groups have taken about a $13 million hit to revenue, to date, through cancelled events.

All of ArtsWave’s events have been cancelled through May and we are considering the cancellation of June events.

Take care,

-Lisa

Hello all,

Strange times we find ourselves in. I hope each of you are safe and healthy, even as the arts are suffering tremendously.

I’d like to open a discussion here about how each of your organizations are addressing the pandemic.

I’m curious to know how your organization is faring and the steps you’re taking to address this very unstable time for the arts.

We’ll get through this stronger together; it’s only intermission. If anyone is interested in a virtual meeting, I’d be interested, too. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Warm regards,

Maury
