I would love a call related to this, just to learn more about what others are doing related to re-entry/re-opening.

Hi all,

These are great, and big questions!

I’m happy to schedule another network call so you can all discuss. If you like we can schedule them regularly for the time being as well (once a month perhaps)?

I want to make sure our UAF community is plugged into the conversations happening across other networks as well, and so we are working here to gather some more targeted resources and talking points about re-opening that can help you in conversations with your local officials.

I also encourage everyone to check out the Association of Chamber of Commerce COVID-19 Resource Center, and see how chambers are talking about re-opening strategies. There are a lot of plans from individual communities that have been posted there. Also, make sure to check the attached letter and see if your Chamber signed on to the letter that was sent to Congress by 140 chambers in support of cultural institutions.

Thanks so much for all your work!

We are struggling with these questions as well. Our community doesn’t have specific guidelines for performance venues leaving us to try and figure it out ourselves. I too am interested in hearing from communities that are developing safe practices so live arts performances can resume.

Subject: [Americans for the Arts] UAF: Questions about reopening

Good morning,

I hope everyone is doing well! We are looking for some quick input from our colleagues around the country about what you're seeing in terms of reopening arts and cultural organizations.

1. What are your cities and towns doing about the reopening of arts organizations? Are some opening, are they staying closed, are there specific types of organizations allowed to open but not others (i.e. museums are opening but not theaters)?

2. What are performing arts venues doing? Are they opening now, reopening for their next season in the fall, waiting until 2021?

3. Have any of your communities already put out any reopening guidelines or recommendations specific to arts and cultural organizations? Or, have you put together reopening plans, guidelines or recommendations that you have provided to state or local officials?

We're currently working with City of Hartford officials on this topic, so we appreciate your input!

Thank you,

Kate
