Hello USUAF colleagues!
Americans for the Arts is part of the Get Creative Workers Working coalition (as I know some of you are), and this morning, that coalition sent out the below email about a new projects collection tool they’ve created. See more below, but
the hope is to gather as many examples of existing projects to incorporate creative workers into local, state, tribal, or regional recovery efforts as possible. Passing along in the hopes that you will input any projects you know about, and/or pass along the
information and link below to others who are doing that work.
As Shannon Daut notes in her email below, this
tool is not designed for a broad audience, and is meant for those in your network who are knowledgeable about this work or are implementing programs related to art and recovery by putting artists to work.
Thanks!
Clay
PS – If you are interested in joining the Get Creative Workers Working coalition (which is to say joining the listserv and the monthly full-coalition calls), please email me and I can get that set up.

Subject: Creative Workforce collection tool now open!
Dear GCWW Coalition,
As mentioned in the last couple full coalition meetings, the steering committee and communications committee of this group have been working to develop
a collection tool to gather basic information about creative workforce projects happening all over the country.
That tool is now ready for use!
Have you developed, been part of, or heard about local, state, tribal, or regional effort to integrate creative workers into the recovery effort? Whether it’s a policy intervention,
a new funding effort, a jobs or commissioning program, or any other arts-integrated recovery effort, we need to hear from you!
In just 5-10 minutes you can help us collect some amazing examples of how creative workers have enhanced community response during the ongoing twin pandemics of COVID and how
that has highlighted inequities.
We are looking especially at initiatives that have impacted health, equity, and work and economic development. We’re supporting the development of a database to direct people like advocates, media, decision makers, local government, producers, researchers to
this good work. We want to promote best (and next) practices, and share what is (and is not) working.
We’ll use stories from supporters and advocates to offer a colorful picture of these ideas. It will both inspire and serve as models/examples for others who want to do similar
work in their communities.
The policies and initiatives implemented in the coming years will become part of the on-going fabric of our communities—that’s why we need to track initiatives to understand what is working, what
adjustments to make, and the impact. Ultimately, we will work to make all of the gathered examples widely accessible, searchable, and shareable.
Please
share this survey with others doing this work and let's build a robust database that changes hearts and minds! (Note: This tool is not designed for a broad audience. We encourage you to share this in a targeted way with those in
your network who are knowledgeable about this work or are implementing programs related to art and recovery by putting artists to work.)
Thank you,
Shannon & Margy
